Instrument finishing & refinishing
I have finished a LOT of instruments, and let me tell you something you probably already know: it is not for the faint of heart. Finish work is very time consuming and hazardous. It also takes a lot of space, equipment, and overhead expenses. On top of all of those factors; it also has a very steep learning curve to produce an excellent finish. For all of these reasons - there are many luthiers (well-established & and aspiring builders alike) that send their instruments off to someone else (like me) for the finish work. If you want your instrument finished by a skilled finishing professional, then send it to me. I prefer nitrocellulose lacquer (Satin or gloss), but I also offer UV Cured Poly, Oil Varnish, or French Polished Shellac. I can do just about any color scheme, too, just let me know what you want! (toned sunbursts, rubbed sunbursts, metallics, fades, sparkle, faux binding, relic and aged lacquer, etc). Send me a contact submission to learn more!
