Built in 2012, this flat-top octave mandolin is really special. I built it for my best friend, and now 11 years later he has given me permission to sell it (He barely plays it anymore, and it just hangs on the wall in my showroom!… so it needs to find a good home). This is Serial #001, and one day it just might be collectible ;)
Based off of a Size 5 Martin ‘Terz’ guitar, the tone is way huge relative to the body size. It doesn’t quite project/punch like an archtop does, but the notes really bloom and can drone amazingly.
Sitka spruce top, mahogany back/sides/neck
21.5” scale length, 1 3/8” nut width, 1 7/8” bridge spacing (String gauges: .045w, .029w, .020w, .013p)
Ebony fretboard and Indian rosewood Bridge and peghead overlay, Indian rosewood binding
Custom Owl peghead inlay (mother of pearl, abalone, rosewood), tobacco sunburst

Excellent condition, minor strumming/pick wear, a few small lacquer dings near the jack
